World Cup: where the participating teams are staying

World Cup Germany 2006The 2006 Fifa World Cup (soccer tournament for those of you in the US!) begins in Germany  next month and so, throughout May, I’ll be telling you about where each team is staying – everything from the 5-star  Kempinski-Hotel Falkenstein in Königste (which will be home to favourites Brazil) to the luxurious  Schlosshotel Bühlerhöhe in the Black Forest Mountains (where the England squad will be staying). There’s  8 groups of  4 teams so I’ll be posting one a day throughout May and into early June, just around the time when the teams will be due to arrive in preparation for their first games.

  1. Last summer I did some research for some corporate clients trying to get suites for the month, and there were a few hotels on our website, FiveStarAlliance.com who said they were sold out because the FIFA officials and corporate sponsers filled them up. Even the teams couldn’t get rooms there!

PS – This is a great blog series you are starting! I can’t wait to read who is where …

  2. Thanks… I thought it would be a bit different. There’s some interesting choices among them, and details will follow shortly.

    Hope you enjoy reading,
