Top 10 cities for foodies

Top 10 cities for foodiesWhat would you say are the top 10 cities for eating out? According to MSNBC, it’s Barcelona, Brussels, Hanoi, Las Vegas, Lyon, New York, San Francisco, Rome, Tokyo and Vancouver. The choices are based on “cities chosen for their unique dishes”, “others for their celebrity chefs”, and “others for creating dishes known the world over”. Interesting that Paris – supposedly  home to three of the top 20 restaurants in the world (3rd, 15th and  17th placed in The World’s 50 Best Restaurants 2006) – should be absent from the list.

  1. Hey, thanks for posting a link to the original article. I agree with you on this one! It seems very strange indeed that Paris doesn’t make the list, but Las Vegas and Hanoi do…

  2. I also think Sydney should have been on the list – it has some fab restaurants and great dishes and some fantastic chefs. definitely at the forefront of cuising in the asia pacific region. thought it would have at least merited a mention!

  3. I would say that Bangkok is very hard to beat as a great city for foodies. Not necessarily for famous chefs but simply for truly fantastic food of all sorts of cuisines.
