Europe to get its first 7-star hotel

Category: Accommodation, Europe, Hotels, Italy, Regions, Western Europe — Paul Johnson @ 9:40 am

Town House GalleriaI’m always wary when you hear of 6-star and 7-star hotels. Afterall, no nationally-recognised tourist classification scheme goes beyond 5 stars. Anyway, enough of my whinging… apparently Europe is to get its first “7-star” hotel. It will be the Town House Galleria in Milan, Itlay. The hotel is on Galleria Vittoria Emanuele, an elegant shopping arcade between La Scala opera house and Milan’s cathedral. There is currently only one other 7-star hotel in the world – the huge Burj Al Arab tower in Dubai – but Town House Galleria will be much smaller, with just 30 suites. The hotel is owned by the Italian Town House group that already runs several small hotels in Milan and Turin.
