Fig & Olive DowntownFor visitors interested in a culinary adventure, Fig & Olive Downtown is one of New York City‘s dining gems.   Located in the trendy Meatpacking District, it offers Mediterranean cuisine that can be enjoyed in the 5,000 square foot dining room, which features a formal dining section, a café and an 18 foot marble tasting bar, or outdoors on the patio, that launches next month.   Guests who enjoy the exotic olive oils that are drizzled over their dishes, can purchase bottles in the restaurant’s retail shop, which also sells tapenade, jams and spreads from around the world.   A  couple of the popular signature menu items include “Zesty Salmon  and Shrimp Salad marinated in citrus fruits and Moulin Baussy olive oil”,  and  “Grilled Lamb on Rosemary Skewers with Bell Peppers and Jumbo Crabmeat Ricotta Croquette, served with a Papaya Cilantro Tomato salad”.   Mmmmm…
