Category: Accommodation, Hotels, Peru, Regions, South America — Paul Johnson @ 2:05 pm

El MonasterioHigh in the Andes, more than 3000 metres above sea level, Cuzco’s El Monasterio  has been  converted into  the ultimate luxury hotel from a 16th Century Jesuit monastery. Nightly room rates start from $495 for a basic double up  to $1,590 for the Royal Suite. Nothing has been overlooked here: extra oxygen to fight altitude sickness is available for an additional $40 a night.
