Silverjet has axed its entire 420-strong workforce after the rumoured rescue deal breaks down. The 370 pilots and cabin crew, and 50 staff based in Luton, have been made formally redundant today. In a statement from the administrators, it was said:
We are extremely disappointed to have had to make these redundancies, which we have been working hard to prevent these redundancies.
Farewell, Silverjet. And good luck to all those involved in securing new work.
