Busy, busy, busy…

Category: A Luxury Travel Blog, Accommodation, Hotels, Travel Miscellany — Paul Johnson @ 12:16 am

Phew… it’s been a busy week. In case you’ve been wondering whether A Luxury Travel Blog was about to become yet another of those blogs that never gets updated, don’t despair.   I’m still here, alive and well… just very, very busy.   My day job (developing and promoting travel sites online) has been more hectic than ever, and that’s saying something!   We do a lot of affiliate marketing for the tourist industry, particularly the hotel trade.   In short, if people book hotels via our websites, we earn a commission from those bookings.   Recently Premier Inn  (note that, despite the name, this is a budget chain, not a luxury one), one of the UK’s leading hotel chains with over 500 hotels throughout the UK and Ireland, began an affiliate scheme, and I’m proud to  report that we’re apparently the top-performing affiliate (i.e. we are delivering more  bookings to them than anyone else).   We’ve been busy trying to maximise on this, and think that we are probably capable of doubling our current level of bookings.   Anyway, hence the absence from this blog… but now it’s time to get back to it.   Watch this space for further posts in the coming days.
