New Fairmont bicycle programme in Canada, with BMW Cruise Bikes

In its continued quest to provide guests with a healthy environment to stay fit and maintain a balanced lifestyle, Fairmont Hotels & Resorts has announced an extension of its partnership with German automaker BMW to include a complimentary hotel bicycle service featuring BMW Cruise Bikes. Beginning Spring 2009, Fairmont hotels across Canada will introduce these state-of-the-art bikes as the newest benefit for guests, granting active and adventurous travelers the opportunity to explore the vibrant cities and stunning landscapes of Fairmont’s distinctive locales. In addition to offering a selection of BMW Cruise Bikes, each hotel will also boast a variety of child-sized BMW bikes, allowing families to enjoy the great outdoors together. And there will be no shortage of options to use the bikes across Fairmont’s hotels in Canada. The Fairmont Chateau Whistler offers unsurpassed biking trails, from paved paths to thrilling mountain descents, ideal for the athletic traveler, and Quebec’s Fairmont Le Château Montebello is every nature-lover’s dream getaway, with bike pathways through woods where riders are certain to spot local wildlife. For guests hoping to see some city sights, Fairmont Château Laurier is the perfect starting point before biking past Canada’s Parliament Buildings, or the area’s historic ByWard Market, where riders will find quaint cafes, boutiques and more.

  1. Great program by Fairmont! Yet another step for them to be the leader in the hotel industry for being green. I love fairmont for this reason. Wish they offered mountain bikes in their mountain locations :(

  2. What a great idea – the last time i stayed in whistler i ended up hiring bikes would have been better if my hotel had provided them complimentary as fairmont is doing. great way to explore!

  3. Fairmont not only offers a loyality program but has been working hard to be loyal back to it’s guests by constantly improving guest’s opportunity for fitness and health.
This feature has made me return to Fairmont and certainly should be a fitness challange for other hotels to follow their lead.
    Bravo Fairmont and keep going!

  4. Funny that I as a presidents club member didn’t hear about that. I heard about complimentry cars in the US but nothing about this.

But I also wonder how long it will be free. They offered free running gear for a while and then started charging for it after people got used to it.
