Devil’s Pool, Zambia

On the Zambian side of the Victoria Falls there is a natural pool known as Devil’s Pool, right next to the 1,708 metre drop. If you were visiting, would you dare to take a leap of faith into the pool?   Take a look at the video before answering!

  1. Sheesh! Not likely. I think I would enjoy the scenery more without getting wet, although adventure travel lovers may want to do otherwise. They don’t call it the devils pool for nothing!

  2. I have sat in the pool – BUT it was when the river was low and you could easily walk to it….still very spectacular and scary looking over the edge (even though the drop is nowhere near 1708 meters, more like 100m drop – maybe 1700 wide???)

  3. Ooops… yes! Thank you for spotting our deliberate (cough!) mistake.

    The falls are 108 metres high and 1708 metres wide. This means they are not the highest or the widest in the world, but they do lay claim to being the largest ‘sheet’ of falling water in the world.

  4. Stomach in my mouth watching that! If you have one place you’d like to be before you die this is mine, so I guess if I do make it I’ll have to go for it and experience it to the full. Here’s hoping GULP!
