Category: Accommodation, Asia, Hotels, Pakistan, Regions — Paul Johnson @ 11:45 pm

Sad news is emerging of a suicide attack on a luxury hotel in Pakistan. The landmark Pearl Continental Hotel in Peshawar in the north-west of Pakistan was stormed by gunmen from a truck which gained access through the hotel gates before it exploded.   Early reports say that 11 people have been killed and at least 52 injured.

    1. I’m very sorry to read this. Peshawar has always been a bit wild west. (I lived and worked there from 1989-91.) The Pearl Continental was THE place to go. I got a serious case of food poisoning from there once, so it’s not as luxurious as one might hope.

It’s terrible to know that so many innocent people have been killed or injured. My thoughts are with those who’ve been affected.

    2. Terrible news. I’m sure this will affect the businesses in the district for months to come but of course the real victims of the casualty would be families of those who got killed. Senseless violence all in all, I really hope that this would stop happening.
