  1. Another infinity edge swimming pool, massive bath, outdoor showers…
Is it a salt water pool? Is water conservation encouraged?
Only 43% of Mozambique has access to a safe water supply, an Angolan has a life expectancy is 41.6 years (figures from WaterAid).
I am pleased to note that they have worked closely with the local inhabitants and have built the villas as sustainably as possible. They even suggest a $10 per night contribution to their ‘Rainbow Fund’.
Should you be promoting facilities that entail excessive use of water, in a resort in Mozambique? After all its hardly the Lake District or Wales.

  2. Hello John

I can’t claim to know the answers to your questions but I don’t think all luxury hotels and resorts are necessarily as ‘evil’ as you might suspect.

Azura is Mozambique’s first carbon neutral resort and there is further info on this and other environmental issues at https://www.azura-retreats.com/conservation.asp (although I suspect your reference to the Rainbow Fund means you might have already seen that page).

  3. Azura looks like a romantic and fun place to stay at. The rooms look clean and inviting, the dinner by the beach is always a plus and there seems to be several things to do to keep everyone busy.
