Amazing Cape Town attractions

Cape Town, located at the very bottom of South Africa, has a fascinating and diverse culture which has served the city incredibly well when it comes to tourism. The city, founded in 1652 as a shipping supply station for the Dutch East India Company, is now one of the most multicultural cities in the world. It has played a pivotal role in the history of Africa, particularly with regard to apartheid and mining, and is now the capitol of South Africa. The Mediterranean climate and friendly locals make it the perfect stop on a luxury holiday to Africa. Table Mountain is a wonderful destination for outdoorsy and adventurous types. It’s a lengthy trip up for hikers, but those who are less inclined to spend their day huffing and puffing up a mountain can take the Table Mountain Cableway, an experience in itself as you can get absolutely amazing views of the city and surrounding countryside. The Victoria & Alfred Waterfront is one of the city’s most popular tourist attractions. It’s built on top of the docks of Cape Town and has several hundred shops, some of the city’s most luxurious hotels, and an aquarium. It’s also still an active port, so visitors to the site can watch ships come and go as they please; ferries are also available to a number of further destinations such as Hiout Bay, Simon’s Town, and Robben Island. Cape Town’s amazing architectural heritage also warrants a simple walk around. The city has the highest density of Cape Dutch style buildings in the world. This unique architectural tradition combines styles from the Netherlands, Germany, France, and Indonesia in ways that are considerably distinct from the rest of the world. Cape Town is a wonderful city to stop, relax, and enjoy as a tourist. If you’re heading to South Africa, you can’t miss this cultural hotspot.
