Photograph of the week: Chateau Vaux le Vicomte, near Paris

This week’s image is of Chateau Vaux le Vicomte, which is about 50 kilometres from Paris. It is alleged that Nicolas Fouquet, the owner, was imprisoned by the then king of France, because the king was jealous that this chateau was better than his own!  More likely, it was because Fouquet, who’d helped finance France’s war effort, was putting pressure on the king to get his money back. Thank you to Martin Soler of Martin Soler Photography for permission to re-produce the image. If you have a really special photograph you would like to share with  A Luxury Travel Blog‘s readers, please contact us.
