The top 5 family attractions in London

London is one of the greatest cities in the UK and one place that can cater to every family memberÂ’s interest. With so much to do and see in the capital we have created our top five places to visit with the family. Whether youÂ’re interested in history, celebrity culture or are now infatuated with the Royal family since the diamond Jubilee celebrations, youÂ’ll find an attraction that will spark intrigue throughout the family. Buckingham Palace The infamous home to the Royal family and the place that took centre stage during the Jubilee festivities, Buckingham Palace is one attraction that the family canÂ’t afford to miss. From 30th June – 8th July and 31st July – 7th October 2012, the State rooms, the Royal Mews and The Queen’s Gallery at Buckingham Palace are open for the public to view, giving visitors an insight into how the Royals live their everyday lives. What makes this yearÂ’s events at the Palace so special is that the tour also includes viewing the exhibition Diamonds: A Jubilee Celebration. Tower of London Why wouldnÂ’t you want to visit the Tower of London? Not only are the renowned crown jewels on display, children can also marvel at the armour located in the White Tower, be enthralled by the story of the imperial Royal Menagerie and walk through the Bloody Tower where two Archbishops of Canterbury, a Lord Chancellor and Sir Walter Ralegh were imprisoned. Madame Tussauds Recently the wax work of our favourite Royal couple, the Duchess of Cambridge and Prince William has been created and is now proudly showcased at Madame Tussauds. All your childrenÂ’s favourite celebrities whether it is Justin Bieber or one of the Twilight characters all await your arrival. This is the perfect place for your children to be snapped linking arms with their favourite celebrity and even discover new inspirational people. London Bridge Experience and The London Tombs Not for the faint hearted this is one venue that we would recommend you take older children too. It has been voted the scariest attraction in London for four years running. The costumes and eerie atmosphere make for a truly unforgettable day out. When you take a trip to London Bridge you can discover all the stories that surround London during the Roman invasion and through to the present day at both the London Bridge Experience and The London Tombs. One ticket and two venues to visit, now thatÂ’s what we call value for money. London Dungeon The London Dungeon is another of the cityÂ’s scariest venues where you can experience 14 shows during a 90 minute tour, scary live actors and three rollercoaster rides. There is over 1000 years of London history to discover and if your children are fans of the Horrible Histories books, TV series or theatre production, theyÂ’re sure to love the London Dungeons. 1. If you are heading for a family holiday or break in London then you really need to check out the National Museums, the Science and Natural History are our children’s favourites.

Not only are they fun and full of learning but they are completely FREE. A top day out in London and it doesn’t cost you anything.
