Ski holidays have been growing in popularity over the past few years. Many people are packing their bags for snow-covered mountainous destinations to spend quality time with friends, families and loved ones. The opportunity to experience the country lifestyle of the French, the delicious cuisines and the adrenaline of some of the snowboarding and skiing activities appeals too many. Most people, however, do not even consider a ski holiday as they perceive it to be an expensive indulgence. Well, truth be told, an luxury ski holiday is going to cost you a good amount of money. Courchevel – the ideal budget ski destination

Courchevel is one of the most amazing locations for a budget ski holiday. This Alpine town turns into a paradise for enthusiastic skiers and few slopes in the country are as good as those in Courchevel. You can find large spaces and fresh snow here, along with a wide variety of activities that are bound to keep you occupied during the course of your holiday. Five villages comprise of the resort and they are located at different altitudes. For instance, Le Praz is located at 1,300m and St. Bon at 1,100m. Courchevel 1550 is famous for its atmosphere which is very family-friendly. Courchevel 1650 is known for its skiing tracks and Courchevel 1850 is the highest point where natural beauty can be witnessed in abundance.

Travelling between each village is easy enough and the ski area linked to the valley of Courchevel features downhill runs that are 150 km long and spread across more than 1300 acres of land that is dedicated to winter sports. Courchevel is also advantageous to snowboarders and skiers, as it lies close to the biggest linked ski area in the world – Trois Vallees. The scenery here is absolutely breath-taking, offering stunning views of the Swiss and Italian Alps.

How to get good deals on a ski holiday

If you plan your trip well in advance, ski holidays are not very expensive. Skiing is by no means an activity reserved for the rich and famous. If you’re interested in experiencing a ski holiday in France, it is advised that you book your accommodation and other facilities well in advance as this is more likely to make you eligible for any discounts that are available. Moreover, prices tend to soar as season time draws closer. In addition, travelling in large groups can also get you good deals, so make sure you plan it out effectively so as to enjoy a great budget holiday in a luxury location.
