Photograph of the week: Embracing technology in Southeast Asia

Travellers sometimes unnecessarily fret that visiting Southeast Asia will cut them off from all modern conveniences that their homes offer, but that is simply not the case. In fact, luxury hotels in Southeast Asia offer most of the same amenities that they do elsewhere like flat-screen televisions, satellite cable access, Wi-Fi, state-of-the-art exercise equipment, round-the-clock business centres, iPod docks, audiovisual equipment and much, much more. Just because you’re on the other side of the world, there is no reason you can’t talk to your loved ones or check in with the office via teleconference right from your hotel. Even the monks are getting on board with technology. Thank you to Katie Goldstein of travelingpanties.com for permission to re-produce the image.
