The top 5 things to do when in Sydney

Sydney is a vibrant and cosmopolitan city, located on the south east coast of the Tasman Sea. The state capital of New South Wales offers some of the world’s best beaches, excellent shopping and exquisite dining experiences from around the world. Here are some of my favorite activities. Bondi Beach  Just twenty minutes from Sydney’s centre is Australia’s most famous beach. Go for a leisurely stroll along the promenade and visit its lively eateries and shops. Try out Icebergs for brunch situated above the Bondi Baths swimming pool with views overlooking the beach. Oxford Street/Paddington Oxford Street Paddington offers some great alternatives to the mainstream fashion brands found in downtown Sydney. Here you will find a great selection of the local high street fashion designers. Circular Quay Go for drinks during sunset at Opera Bar and take in the panoramic views of the Sydney Harbor Bridge and Opera House. Sydney Opera House See one of the performances at the Sydney Opera House. A UNESCO World Heritage Site and celebrated as one of the twentieth century’s most distinctive buildings in the world. Tetsuya’s Restaurant Built in a heritage site located in the heart of Sydney, this exquisite Japanese restaurant was founded by the award winning chef, Tetsuya Wakuda. Intimately tucked away behind an unassuming courtyard, dining here was an unforgettable experience. Cristy Elmendorp is Managing Director of Soma Journeys. 1. I also highly recommend the Harbour Bridge Climb.
Hired a Hertz RV last fall and went around Australia for 6 weeks with my family.
Had a great time in Sydney and Perth.
Definitely my top two places in Australia! :D
Hope to be back there soon for a round trip to New Zealand as well.
Loved your article on Melbourne vs Sydney :D

  2. Cristy has done well to narrow the list down to just 5 in a city that has so much to offer in every corner. Sydney is a place that has something for everyone and you could easily spend a week or more exploring it all. A sunset drink at the Opera Bar is a worthy inclusion and an iconic local ritual.
