Photograph of the week: Victoria Falls

Straddling the border between Zambia and Zimbabwe on the Zambezi River, Victoria Falls is said to have the largest sheet of falling water in the world. The waterfall was named in honor of Queen Victoria by explorer David Livingston in 1855. Locals on the Zambian side call it “The Smoke That Thunders.” At 108m/360ft high and 1708m/5604ft wide, it’s truly a sight to behold. Victoria Falls Thank you to Adam Pervez of Happiness Plunge for permission to re-produce the image.
