Photograph of the week: Sunrise over Myrtle Beach, South Carolina

This is Cherry Grove Pier in North Myrtle Beach, SC, USA at sunrise. This pier is the second longest pier on the eastern US coast and is host to thousands of tourists and fishermen alike. It actually holds the world record of the largest Tiger Shark ever caught (1,780 pounds!) The wooden structure extending 985 feet into the Atlantic Ocean and has a two-story observation deck (if you have the guts to go up) that was built after the pier was destroyed by hurricane Hugo in 1989. All in all, in provides a breathtaking view of the Atlantic and the North Myrtle Beach coastline from an angle that you have never seen before. The photo was taken using HDR photography and 5 exposures to capture all the colors of the magnificent sunrise and pier.
