5 of the best luxury bars in Bangkok

Thai people are known for their hospitality and attention to small details in their catering establishments. The thriving capital city of Bangkok has become famous for its busy and exciting nightlife, that offers truly unique night outs out on the town, and according to Murray Head’s song , One Night in Bangkok, ‘the bars are temples’. Whilst there are many commercial areas designed for travellers, there are also some lesser known but amazing bars. Here are 5 of the best luxury bars in Bangkok that we would recommend: Nest High above the business district and entertainment hot spot Sukhumvit, Nest is a luxury rooftop lounge and bar that is designed to provide a break from the busy city below. With an exotic design and mellow atmosphere, there is space to relax and enjoy your drinks whilst looking out across the city. Nest is an appropriate name as it creates a cosy and sophisticated atmosphere with a modern design. They offer some excellent tasting menus and serve refreshing cocktails. Be sure to try a ‘Lemondrop’. Nest Bar Bamboo Chic Bar For its sleek and trendy drinks and stylish interior, the Bamboo Chic Bar has made its way into our top 4 luxury bars. This is a more classic bar, as it is located in Le Meridien Hotel. It follows the hotel’s high-end crisp design and has a glamorous feel to it. Bamboo Chic Bar is famed for its extensive choice of cocktails and provides the ideal setting for a cultured evening with friendly staff that take pride in remembering who you are. Horizons Bar Horizons is one of Bangkok’s most loved luxury bars and it has won several awards for its individual approach when it comes to serving food and drink. Horizons is a party place that serves up some interesting cocktails and tapas from all over the world. Their bartenders and mixology experts have won awards for their inspiration and creativity when it comes to making drinks. The bar is 360 degrees so you will have the amazing views across the city and it is a slightly surreal but unrivalled experience to be dancing high above the city of Bangkok. Horizons Bar Red Sky Bar Not to be confused with Sky Bar which can be overrun with tourists after it was made famous by The Hangover films, Red Sky Bar has maintained itself as a high brow (it is on the 56th floor) and luxury location that allows you to enjoy Bangkok’s skyline. It is part of the 5 star Centara Grand Hotel so the service is second to none; the staff are extremely friendly and can never do enough for you. Red Sky Bar has an iconic arch that changes colour, which provides a perfect backdrop to any of the live music acts that perform there. Red Sky Bar Distil Bar Tucked just above the well-known Sky Bar is Distil Bar and even though it’s no secret how attractive this bar is, a lot of attention is diverted towards the better known one below, so you can experience the same views but in a less crowded and far more exciting bar. It has a very stylish decoration but this bar is all based on finesse and presentation. Their drinks are all delivered in the most unique styles and look like nothing else you have seen. Fresh sushi is prepared in an equally lavish fashion to make for a luxurious experience in what is actually the highest bar in Bangkok.

  1. We stayed a week at the Tower Club at Lebua Bangkok and were lucky enough to experience all the bars and restaurants there. This hotel is luxury, the Distil bar is nice but the sky bar is better although a little crowded. Biggest disappointed though is the feeling of being herded like cattle on the roof and ushered everywhere. Lovely place though and we will stay there again next time we are in Bangkok.

  2. I agree with the previous reply. Lebua is really nice, but a bit to crowded. Sky bars are now popping up everywhere in Bangkok. Most new hotels that are build now come with a nice skybar. Guess Lebua stays popular because of the hang over movie.
