4 experiential gift giving ideas for the festive period

Some people are just not easy to buy gifts for at Christmas. When faced with the dilemma of buying a gift for someone who already seems to have everything, the easiest thing to do is to buy a gift that can be treasured for years to come – and by that I mean a memory rather than a physical product. A dinner out, tickets to the theatre, a hotel stay… an experience of some kind that can be cherished. Marriott As luck would have it, Marriott.com are running a promotion at more than 25 US Marriott Resorts right now, giving you plenty of gift giving options for those impossible-to-buy-for individuals out there. Their Pick Your Package offers allow you to choose from four themed holiday packages to brighten up the festive mood. Whether your interest is in spas, golf or fun with the family, you’ll find lots of options to choose from at a range of Marriott resorts throughout the US. Marriott pool Here are the four experiences to choose from: Spa La La Marriott’s holiday spa offer includes resort accommodation plus two 50 minute spa treatments so that you can rejuvenate the body and soothe the soul. Participating resorts include the Renaissance Esmeralda Indian Wells Resort & Spa in California, with its full service spa where you can choose from 2 spa treatments – Swedish Massage or Deep Cleansing Facial for a package rate starting from $279. Alternatively, splurge a little on a package starting from $389 and stay at the JW Marriott Desert Springs Resort & Spa in Palm Desert, CA, where you’ll have a choice of the same two treatments. Two for Tee The Two for Tee holiday golf offer includes resort accommodation and two rounds of golf, as well as access to practice greens and other golfing facilities. Marriott golf For a package rate starting from $269 you can stay at the Marco Island Marriott Beach Resort, Golf Club & Spa, a world-class resort on Florida’s Gulf Coast. Marco Island named the #1 island in the United States in the 2014 TravelersÂ’ Choice Island Awards and here you will find two private 18-hole championship golf courses to choose from – The Rookery at Marco and Hammock Bay Golf & Country Club. Credit is King With this option, Marriott offers a daily holiday resort credit of anything from $50 to $100 per night, including resort accommodation, allowing your money to go that little bit further at what is invariably an expensive time of year. Some of the best credit examples can be found at JW Marriott Phoenix Desert Ridge Resort & Spa in Arizona and JW Marriott San Antonio Hill Country Resort & Spa in Texas, both of which are offering an incredible $100 per night in credit. Something Suite My own personal favourite, the Something Suite package includes a holiday family suite offer with a $50 kids credit per night for the children to spend on room service, kids club and all things kids love… like cookies and ice cream. Participating resorts include the fabulous JW Marriott Scottsdale Camelback Inn Resort & Spa with package prices starting from just $279. For some family winter fun, have a look also at the Vail Marriott Mountain Resort where package rates start from an amazingly low $139 (with a minimum 5-night stay required). The latter is just steps from the gondola in Vail and with blue skies for more than 300 days each year, it serves as a great place for families to reconnect and spend quality time together. Marriott view Bookings of the ‘Pick Your Package’ promotion must be made 31st December 2014 and are valid on stays through until 31st January 2015.
