Photograph of the week: Full moon in Death Valley

A full moon rises over the Badwater Basin salt flats in Death Valley National Park, California. At 282 feet below sea level, Badwater is the lowest point in North America. The vast, surreal crust of hexagonal shapes change constantly as salt crystals form, expand and then become eroded with wind blown dust and passing rain storms.
