Top 5 luxury vacation spots in Greece

Luxury hotels, gourmet restaurants, sailing boats, together with crystal clear waters, sandy beaches and natural beauty? These 5 vacations spots in Greece have the whole package! Santorini, Mykonos, Crete, along with the lesser known Paxos island and the up and coming Athens Riviera, are both beautiful and luxurious, making them favorite destinations among Greek and foreign luxury travellers alike. Either you prefer a cosmopolitan flair, Cycladic architecture or an even more traditional ambient, here you can find everything you are looking for to satisfy your senses and your opulent self, having the time of your life by the beach at the same time! So, are you ready for a greek luxury experience like never before? 1. Mykonos You know it and you love it. This tiny island in the heart of beautiful Cyclades is also close to Athens, making a favorite weekend getaway for everyone who is someone in the capital of Greece. Villas overlooking the Aegean, hotels with simplistic luxury, amazing restaurants by the deep blue sea for unforgettable culinary experiences, as well as some of the best bars and clubs in the country, for colorful cocktails made with fresh ingredients, this is what most love about Mykonos. Add the golden beaches, all pretty close to each other, the azure waters, the most comfortable sunbeds youÂ’ve ever sunbathed on, together with impeccable service everywhere you go, and youÂ’ll have the vacation experience of your dreams! Mykonos 2. Paxos This small, lush island next to Corfu features some of the best fish restaurants in the Mediterranean, amazing blue waters and quaint port towns, making it a sailing paradise for Italians and Greeks alike. Sailing from one beach to the other is an amazing experience on its own, while hopping from Paxos to Antipaxos, its tinier brother-island, is a must-do if you want to witness two of the most astonishing beaches of the country (even Europe). Spend your nights in Paxos in your sailboat or yacht and wake up everyday from the quiet sound of the waves, enjoying great views to cute Lakka port drenched in the beautiful colors of the summer morning! Paxos 3. Athens Riviera Amazing beach bars, luxurious beaches, awesome bungalows and private villas and great Greek cuisine? Yes, Athens has more than just the Acropolis and you can find it all by the sea! From Glyfada to Lagonissi, the Athens Riviera hosts some of the best seafood youÂ’ve ever tasted, on expensive restaurants with views to the sea; opulent hotels hidden in peninsulas most locals donÂ’t even know are there; beach bars and clubs with oh so Greek design and decoration, with huge sunbeds booked weeks in advance; and exclusive sandy beaches that will make your Athens experience one youÂ’ll talk about for months! Athens 4. Crete Crete is home to two of GreeksÂ’ favorite beaches (Balos and Elafonissi with their pink sand and turquoise waters). It is also the most delicious destination in the country, with local delicacies and traditional dishes that can satisfy even the most discerning palate. The first luxury hotels of the country were also built here, adding to Crete this wow factor every island with such natural beauty should have. Travellers who need a quiet, exclusive vacation, pampering service, amazing gastronomic experiences and relaxation on GreeceÂ’s greatest beaches, have just found their paradise! Crete 5. Santorini Breathtaking views, cliff-hanging restaurants, villas with infinity pools that will blow you away… SantoriniÂ’s beauties are out of this world. This island, famous around the world, also features some of the best wine in Europe, culinary delights of the best quality and amazing bars for cocktails overlooking the well-known Santorini sunset. The accommodation on the island blends beautifully the traditional indoor spaces with the awesome volcanic scenery and the Aegean blue, offering travellers the best time of their lives, for every moment they spend here. And candlelit dinners on private terraces are an experience not to be missed! Santorini

  1. I have been to Crete and would also love to visit Santorini and Mykonos, they look very beautiful. Greece is a wonderful place to keep going back to as there is so much to explore.

    1. Hey Leane! Crete is a wonderful place to visit, indeed! but you need a lot of days in order to see all these beautiful spots. Santorini is great and sooo different and when I get there i firstly book something luxurious and adventurous like diving cause its that island has one of the most interesting bottoms i’ve ever seen…

  2. I would rate Naoussa in Paros better than Mykonos and Crete. All the beauty, restaurants and ambience without all the crowds.

  3. Xanos, Kos, Skiathos, Mykonos, Lazawn, Santorini are all beautiful islands out of the 6,000 islands and islets scattered in the Aegean and Ionian Seas

  4. Mykonos has outstanding beaches except the Super paradise which is for parties and only.. This waters in Paxos though are not be forgotten!!

  5. I always think of Mykonos as being a bit of a party place. Kind of like Ibiza. I guess it’s all the press and publicity it gets that’s geared towards the drinking and partying, and you don’t get to read about the rest of what the area has to offer. Doesn’t Santorini have different beaches, not the usual white sand that’s found in most of Greece? I’m sure I read somewhere once that it’s volcanic rock beaches there. I’d love to go to Crete, I know a few people who have been and I don’t think they had a bad word to say about it.
