Barcelona, a city known for its adventure and culture, is slowly becoming a haven for relaxation seekers worldwide. BarcelonaÂ’s beaches, gardens and café-in-the-square charm make it the ideal place to unwind from the stress of everyday life, and there is no shortage of lavish spas and resorts to pamper a tired travellerÂ’s every need. The health and wellness industry in the city is booming, as more visitors come to explore the serene side of Catalan capital. Aire de Barcelona It is hard to talk about luxury spas in the city without mentioning this one. Aire de Barcelona is famous for their Arab style baths in which the client rotates between baths of differing temperatures in order to achieve maximum refreshment. 1. Although garra rufa fish are new to me, I’ve had a fish pedicure before where they nibble at your feet. Quite the experience! More like gentle tickling but just having it done was so novel. That was a few years ago in the UK but I’ve not really seen the fish foot spas around since. I didn’t anticipate it would be a ‘thing’ over in spas in Barcelona either.
The Urban spa is quite appealing too as I find water can be incredibly soothing and healing. I’d be interested to see how they use technology in their practices there as every little helps to boost our health and wellbeing. I don’t tend to relate Barce with spas, more tourist sightseeing and shopping. I’d happily go to any one of these right now, so it’s good to know there are plenty of tempting options.
