6 villas in Sri Lanka that are ideal for multi-generational travel

One of the increasing trends weÂ’ve noticed in recent years is in family travel – not just Mums and Dads travelling with their children – but multi-generational family holidays. Quite often we see grandparents with a passion for travel and an equal passion for their families – arranging wonderful travel experiences for their children and grandchildren – especially when itÂ’s around significant birthdays or wedding anniversaries. Sri Lanka – the lush, green tropical paradise with stunning beaches, tea plantations, national parks and wildlife, and a range of World Heritage sites – is one of those places attracting multi-generational trips. Its boutique accommodation options, small size and ease of travel make it an ideal place for these types of vacations. ItÂ’s also exotic in its appeal, but not overwhelming for families with young children. An ideal way for these multi-generational family groups to travel in Sri Lanka is to stay at some of the countryÂ’s many wonderful private villas. These unique, boutique properties usually feature 4 or 5 bedrooms, many with private pools and gorgeous gardens in idyllic locations. They have onsite chefs, butlers, and some feature spas and babysitters. ItÂ’s a great way to have a luxurious stay, but to create a special space for families or groups of friends to be together, whilst still allowing everyone to have their own bedrooms and space. Here are a just a few of Sri LankaÂ’s private villas we love for special family escapes. 1. 1. I have quite a large birthday coming up soon and I want to pull the family together, all four generations, to celebrate. I’m a Sri Lanka regular but none of my children, or grandchildren, have ever visited. I’m doing some research to see what’s available in terms of villas. Claughton House could be very promising. The idea of a private beach appeals. My family can be very noisy and I wouldn’t want to inflict them on other people.
