New five star hotels in India

Ambattur Clothing (ACL), a garment exporter in India, is looking to diversify into the luxury hotel market. Vijay Mahtaney, managing director of ACL is close to finalising plans to establish a chain of five-star hotels in Chennai, Coimbatore and Hyderabad through Ambattur Developers, ACL’s group company. Work on the 2.5 acre Chennai  project will start this month and the hotel should become operational by mid-2008. An agreement has been made with an  as yet unnamed international hotel chain, which is already a well-established brand in the country,  to manage the Chennai property.
