New jet from Eclipse Aviation

Eclipse 500If you’re in the market for your own personal jet, you might want to take a look at the new Eclipse 500. It can hold six people and is economical to run thanks to its light weight.  One innovative feature  of this 375-knot jet is friction stir welding. The plane is a  steal at $1,295,000; and that  might explain why Eclipse Aviation have already had over 2,000 orders for it.

  1. This jet is amazing. The fuel capacity and low operational costs make it a winner. Does anyone know how long the wait list is for these? From what I understand they have about 2400 orders already.

    Thanks,

  2. Hi Boyan and thanks for stopping by at A Luxury Travel Blog!

I know DayJet has ordered a few hundred of these planes. I think there was also a start-up called Nimbus reportedly ordering 1,000 of them.

I’m not sure what the waiting list times are for the aircraft but I would imagine they’re lengthy due to the jet’s popularity.
