The Lake District gets the nod from Renée Zellweger

Renée ZellwegerIt’s not every day that Hollywood stars descend on where I live.   But right now, Renée  Zellweger and around 20 trucks, trailers and film crew vans are just down the road, filming around the village of Grasmere (supposedly on National Trust property, but  the exact location is being kept under wraps) in the English Lake District.   Beatrix PotterThey are filming “Miss Potter”,  a film about the famous  Lake District author Beatrix Potter, which is due to be released in January next year. Today, Renée unveiled a bronze 15-foot statue in honour of the author, at the World of Beatrix Potter Attraction and had this to say about  our wonderful corner of the world:
Arriving in the Lake District is like the culmination of the journey we’ve been on these past few weeks. It brings the whole Miss. Potter story to life, to be in the places where Beatrix lived. I have been completely stunned by the beauty of the landscape and the tranquillity of the scene. I hope that the sculpture will become a distinctive local landmark and give enjoyment to visitors to the Lake District.
