New luxury hotels for 2010 Commonwealth Games in Delhi

2010 Commonwealth GamesA proposal to set up 14 hotels in Noida by 2009 – in time for the 2010 Commonwealth Games in Delhi – has been cleared by the Noida Authority Board.  Noida is close to where the Commonwealth Games Village will be sited. Of the 14 hotels, 6 will be five-star and 5 will be four-star.

  1. I’m surprised at this news and wonder how these plans are progressing. We lived in New Delhi for over three years and I only ever visited Noida once, on an errand to help a friend. There’s nothing there!

    It’s a bleak satellite town built on a grid system. I can see how it would be convenient to site hotels there to provide accommodation during the Games. But who the heck is going to stay in these places afterwards? I really can’t imagine it.
