  • East 47 – Plaza de las Cortes, 10 (Villa Real hotel). Small place with modern and original cuisine, cosy and elegant.
  • Principe de Viana –  Manuel de Falla, 5. Excellent service and quality, traditional.

Just follow the not-written rules: in tapas bars, have a wine with one or two tapas, stay at the counter and mingle with the locals, then head for another bar. In restaurants, don’t book before 9.30pm or you will be the only one in the restaurant. In Rome, do as Romans do. My thanks once again go to Eduardo of Different Spain for compiling this list for A Luxury Travel Blog.

  1. ok i saw you have named “estay” as one of the top places to eat in this region. i do wish i could say thanks that my family owns it but unfortunatly we do not. BUT 95% of my family are chefs. Between us all i dont think there was a politictian or actor in hollywood (pre-1985)who hadnt dined on our creations with not just their taste buds either. with the wonderful aromas and works of art that are served to our guests, not a suprise that john wayne tracked our grandmother down years after she moved from CA, juat to have her cater a BB-Q style lunch for him and some friends. But heres the thing i am the youngest of 8 children(and that is just from my dad i cant even count all the cousins and yes i am much younger than most all of them) so when ever i have family over for dinner they end up telling me how to try it another time or worse yet they say nothing not that its bad it just doesnt WOW them so i was wondering if you maybe able to e-mail me a sample menu, even just what you had there. then i can maybe track down pics of the place and have a theme dinner that will really blow them away&maybe they will stop critiqueing all my cooking choices. any ways if not i hope you enjoy your future journeys
