Pisa to get new leaning tower

Leaning Tower of PisaJust read an interesting article about how there are plans for a second leaning tower in Pisa, visible from the original but approximately 3 miles away. This new attraction will house offices, shops and apartments. City officials have accepted the proposal which will cost $64.8 million. The new tower will only appear to be leaning – the steel and glass structure will simply be lit in such a way as to give a ‘trompe l’oeil’ effect (a kind of optical illusion).
