Fort Lauderdale’s Seminole Hard Rock Hotel and Casino hits the headlines

Anna Nicole SmithOne hotel that’s really grabbing the headlines right now is the Seminole Hard Rock Hotel and Casino in Fort Lauderdale, South Florida and, in particular, Room 607. It’s there that Anna Nicole Smith tragically died last Thursday, aged just 39. The hotel has gained notoriety because of the recent events and will join the likes of Chateau Marmont in West Hollywood, California, where John Belushi died in 1982, and the Chelsea Hotel in New York City, where Sex Pistols singer Sid Vicious allegedly fatally stabbed his girlfriend, Nancy Spungen, in 1978. Could the hotel become some kind of macabre tourist attraction, I wonder?   Afterall, the Chateau Marmont and others can be found on a list of “celebrity death sites” on the popular TripAdvisor Web site.
