Why not Tenerife?

I’m looking forward to a trip to Tenerife next month and will be posting details about where I’ve stayed when I return. I’ve visited the island a couple of times previously, but not for more than a decade now. The Canaries offer an ideal year-round climate with average daytime temperatures in the 20s and 30s from January through to December. As one of the most popular Canary Islands, there are also plenty of hotels in Tenerife that cater for the luxury traveller.

You’ll see a great difference in Tenerife in a decade, both positive and negative, but there certainly do seem to be more hotels and other services that should satisfy the traveller looking for luxury than you’ve probably seen before. If you’re coming to the north, more recent projects such as boutique hotels in Garachico, delightful renovated cottages and the new golf course in Buenavista (that is shortly to have a small five-star hotel) are some things that you may want to look out for.
