Your underwater home from home – the Jelly-fish 45

Jelly-fish 45Underwater hotels have been growing in popularity in recent years, with one currently under construction in Dubai.   However, floating luxury homes with a floor below sea level for underwater viewing are something totally new to me.   That’s the idea behind the Jelly-fish 45 dwelling designed by Giancarlo Zema.   The five-storey dwelling is 10 metres high with a diameter of over 15 metres at its maximum, and it can accommodate 6 to 8 people.   You want one, did you say?   That’ll be $2.5 million, please.

  1. Wow, that looks so cool. I hadn’t heard of the underwater hotels (What can I say? We don’t have them out here in Spokane :P), so those sound neat too.

I don’t think I could quite afford the $2.5 million price tag on a floating home with a floor beneath the water (who cleans the outside of those windows anyway?), but maybe I’ll be able to find one available for a weekend as a vacation rental some day…
