Snooth

I stumbled upon an interesting site called Snooth today. It was founded last June and claims to be revolutionising the way in which  people select  wine.
By combining the company’s proprietary algorithms with the world’s most comprehensive wine database, Snooth is able to accurately identify the wines best-suited to an individual…  [it] analyzes a user’s unique set of interactions with the site and, using its powerful recommendation engine, leverages this digital fingerprint to generate highly-personalized wine recommendations.
I haven’t delved deeply enough  yet to find out whether this is covered, but my immediate  reaction to the above is “What about identifying what wine works with the food  being served?”  Time to do some reading and to test it out a little.   They must be doing something right if their claims of 2 million reviews (more than any other site, apparently) and over 300,000 visitors a month are to be believed.   1. This would be great if restaurants published their wine lists online, so one could use this site to select their wine before they arrive – and maybe even reserve it.

  2. Personally i agree with Paul doesn’t your wine really depend very much on what you are eating!
