Four Seasons Langkawi, Malaysia

Four Seasons LangkawiThe tropical beaches and colourful marine life of Langkawi provide a wonderful setting for a soothing Malaysian getaway.   With beautiful surroundings, the Four Seasons Langkawi is a peaceful haven that offers every modern comfort.   Just as the exquisite architecture has been influenced by Malay and Mughal culture, the pampering treatments provided in the spa incorporate local traditions.   The views over the sea are radiant and particularly spectactular from any of the three restaurants.   Standard rates start from 540 USD but a variety of packages is available.

  1. langkawi is a truly relaxing island with some fab beaches and hotels – quieter than penang and less touristy than many thai resorts it is a great getaway.

  2. We met a couple in KL who were going here for their honeymoon. Sounds absultely blissful. We didn’t manage to make time on that trip but want to go next time.

  3. It was a horrible holiday. A greeting card for the wrong people in our room, a daily fruit platter that only turned up every three days and after we would repeatedly request it be sent to our room.

What they dont tell you is that the view is of a power plant when you turn your head left, the beach is graded for rubbish collection that washes up on the beach 4 times a day with the big red tractor going past. The doors are so old and rotted that they dont close properly, the service staff are inconsistant with their attention to details, the food takes at least an hour to get to your table or room, and they tell you they will be back in an hour and then make you wait outside in the 39C heat and 98% humidity for hours as a responsible person so that the wild monkeys dont take the food of the outdoor table.

The spa treatments were fine and on time.

There is only one possible excursion to the Mangroves! At $200.00 AUS a head it was a good 3 hour trip. There is nothing else to do except sit on the beach. The July weather makes it horrible to be out of air conditioning. We have lived in QLD for 10 years and the weather in Langkawi made out side impossible for long lengths of time and too hard to breathe!

Everything is over priced. The wine list is below quality and the food is really hit and miss.

The whole resort is old and falling a part. The staff just dont care about the quality of the rooms or guest enjoyment of their holiday.

Save your $30,000 per week and go to VATULELE! Its amazing and we should have gone back there and not to Langkawi!

    You live and learn!!!
