Luxury travellers can now benefit from a real opinion

Customers looking for a luxury holiday can now tap into the expertise of travel journalist and contributor to A Luxury Travel Blog, Andrea Wren, when booking their next trip away. Andrea, a seasoned traveller with feet too itchy to keep still for very long, has recently launched her own agency Wren Elite Travel in a bid to offer a more personalised service than other web-based travel agencies. Having extensively travelled for both work and pleasure, written numerous reviews on luxury hotels, and complied many features on worldwide destinations, Andrea knows the travel well from a consumer perspective, and thinks that because of this, Wren Elite Travel can truly keep the customer in mind, providing the human touch to customers fed up with ‘faceless’ internet booking systems. The service she is offering is quite different, combining travel agent and ‘Travel PA Elite’ – a kind of ‘pre-holiday concierge’.

  1. I wonder how much of a market there is for this type of “luxury” travel agent and luxury travel keeps travelers tucked away in the luxurious tourist spots, or whether these travelers are able to get out and really experience the place they are visiting.

  2. Hi Clint,

I think the face of luxury travel is very much changing, and more than ever can accommodate a range of travel experiences for those who so desire them.

For example, there are a number of tour operators who do ‘discovery’ and adventure types of holidays that appeal to the high-end market. Some stipulate that accommodation and other amenities may not quite be ‘luxury standard,’ but there will be many other aspects of the tour that are, or it will overall aim for a high level of comfort, whilst allowing travellers to have off-the-beaten track experiences.

Having said that, it is not my place as an agent to judge how a customer chooses to travel, and if people want to book a holiday in the ‘luxurious tourist spots,’ then that is their choice for me to help them with.

I think there is more of a market for the luxury agent than otherwise, as mass market tourism is easy to find and book on the web, whereas something a little more exclusive isn’t necessarily as easy to find.

    Kind regards,

    Andrea
