  1. OK–I don’t know a thing about Hotel Chandler. I will have to check it out. But I was in NY last week and stayed at the St. Regis Hotel off 5th Ave and I have to give it up the St. Regis!!! It’s no new, but it’s still amazing and ultra-fab. And they are now offering prix fix lunch and dinner. Both are amazing deals for NYC. I had Risotto, Lobster Salad + dessert for $45.00 for lunch. You might want to take a new look at this old hotel. It’s still the grand lady of NYC luxury.

  2. Mary I agree the St Regis is a beautiful location and so central for everything including all those 5th avenue shops – if only the dollar was back at $2 to the £!

I recently stayed in the luxury boutique hotel Chambers and was very disappointed, while the location was great just off 5th at 56th the service was terrible – definitely a case of too cool for school that a lot of the staff acted like they couldn’t be bothered . My bags were lost on the way and when they were delivered to the hotel instead of either informing me that they had arrived or bringing them to my room they left them until i asked if anything had been delivered. Also one night i ordered a grilled cheese (wanted something plain for a change) when it arrived at my room it was cold and burnt! don’t think i will be back, fortunately New York has so many great hotels to choose from!
