A new way to enjoy your vacations: The Ritz-Carlton Destination Club

After 80 years and more than 70 hotels providing legendary service, The Ritz-Carlton Hotel Company, L.L.C. has raised the bar again with the unveiling of a new way to enjoy an inspiring vacation lifestyle: The Ritz-Carlton Destination Club. An evolution of The Ritz-Carlton Club, this equity-based private membership program offers two choices – either a Home Club Membership (identical to the successful fractional ownership offering) which provides use of a titled residence at a property they can return to throughout the year, or a deeded, Portfolio Membership which affords the opportunity to discover a wide variety of premier destinations and accommodations.

  1. I would like to hear other people’s thoughts on this. Obviously this was planned during the good times, and it just seems like a really tough economic environment to be rolling this out. I really like the Portfolio membership, however. If you are retired, and plan to travel luxury, this gives you the opportunity to stay at numerous worldwide properties, with a fixed, budgeted cost (albeit a high cost!)

  2. It’s an interesting business model. I too wonder if the crunch will scupper it. I’m inclined to think that if you can afford frequent luxury stays, you’re probably not in need of fixed budget offerings.

  3. Kay, while you have a point, rich people are rich for a reason. It is exactly the OPPOSITE attitude that you expressed in your post. If they all went with the “I have so much money, who cares” attitude, they wouldn’t be rich. They are smart with their money, and if this offered a significant financial advantage to them, they are going to do ot.

  4. a good idea although sometimes you may like to mix it up and use different brands for different areas!
