Yet another Gordon Ramsay restaurant

It seems there’s no stopping Gordon Ramsay at the moment.   No sooner had I blogged about the new restaurant at the Forte Village Resort in Sardinia and I discover that he’s opening another in Tuscany, also next month. Nestled within one of Italy’s most beautiful stretches of Tuscan countryside, just 100 km from Florence International Airport, the  Castel Monastero hotel – the site of Ramsay’s latest venture –  infuses a sense of noble grace upon the gorgeous Ombrone Valley, a unique corner of the world filled with Chianti vines, corn fields, chestnut forests and long rows of cypress trees. In the courtyard, among the oldest and most earnest of medieval traditions, a fine dining restaurant will be opened and overseen by Gordon Ramsay, showcasing the best in Tuscan cuisine.

  1. Why would anyone want to eat at a Gordon Ramsey restaurant when staying at Tuscany or Sardinia, when the local restaurants are so good? Its like eating at McDonalds or Burher King at Machu Picchu. (Link to page in this blog not accepted?)

  2. I have to agree with John – staying in Italy a Gordon Ramsay restaurant would probably not be top of my list with so many other yummy options available. I have been lucky enough to eat in his restaurants in London and New York and enjoyed the experience on every occasion but he will need to watch he is not spreading himself to thin – wouldn’t want the quality to slip.

  3. He has a restaurant in Sardinia? I’m sure the food would be amazing but I’d still rather opt for something genuinely italian when there’s so many wonderful options out there!
