New luxury in Glasgow, Scotland: Blythswood Square

One of Glasgow’s most famous and historical buildings is being transformed into the breathtakingly luxurious five star hotel,  Blythswood Square. Formerly headquarters to the  Royal Scottish Automobile Club, this landmark property has been redeveloped by Scotland‘s stylish luxury boutique hotel group,  The Town House Collection, to capture the glamour of a bygone era whilst showcasing the latest in designer styling as befits this vibrant and sociable city. Blythswood Square which is located in the City centre on one of Glasgow’s only remaining green spaces will have 100 bedrooms including four spacious suites and an enticing top floor penthouse complete with rooftop hot tub. It will also house Glasgow’s first luxury spa offering indigenous Scottish treatments, a restaurant, bars, a private screening room and event facilities.

  1. I can’t wait for this to open in the city – think this is what Glasgow needs a bit of 5 star luxury in the heart of the city. Its in a great location and is a fab buidling.

  2. This is a fabulous addition to glasgow, it is in the old RAC club where the race to monte carlo will start soon.

I have visited the hotel on several occasions now and enjoyed it every time. the afternoon tea in the salon on the first floor is superb and good value, bag a seat by the window that overlooks the square and park. the salon also does great cocktails and they generally have a monthly special watch out for those. The restaurant is excellent, nice and airy and the food is delicious, great steaks.

I was also recently there for a business breakfast which was pretty amazing lots of finger breakfast food that was delicious including mini scotch eggs with cripy bacon on chilli jam crispbread – wow wish my brekkie was like that everyday. my meeting took place in the cinema which was small and intimate with large comfy cinema chairs in tartan.

This is a great hotel and very welcomed by glaswegians.

  3. They have a real sunlight room to boost your vitamin D! I’d love that in the winter what a great idea. Glasgow is a great city and this sounds a great place to stay. We actually stayed out of Glasgow when we visited at the Seamill Hydro in West Kilbride, also lovely and was an easy drive into Glasgow.

  4. not that i’m biased or anything as glasgow is my home city but it is a pretty fab place to spend some time!
