Tickets are now on sale for events at the Melbourne Food and Wine Festival, which will be held from 4th to 14th March 2011. They have a seriously good line-up of chefs and winemakers, and the festival is set to be a gastronomic joyride. As well as masterclasses, demonstrations, dinners and other events, the festival is celebrating the past with three tasty themes: Women of the Kitchen; The Lost Arts; and Stars of Spice. This star-studded festival will feature over 100 top chefs and wine personalities from around the world plus more than 250 events. The full programme will be published online on 3rd December 2010 but you can ensure your place and buy tickets now for some of the events. This promises to be one of the major foodie events of the year. As they say on their website, “All this and Nigella too!”

  1. can think of no better place to enjoy a food & drink festival, melbourne really is a gourmet capital with some amazing restuarants.

  2. melbournes restaurants are quite fabulous from fine dining to casual. The stokehouse in st kilda is right on the water and a great place to meet frinds, hang and grab some food and drinks.

Although i have to say i prefer sydney for restaurants and eating out – for brunch i would thoroughly recommend Bills he has 3 outposts in the city. for thai try longgrain, for pizzas try hugo’s for amazing gnocci with prawns try bird cow fish, for amazing chinese try billy kwongs – the list is endless and i could keep going on for ever
