The 10 most followed travel-related Twitter accounts – updated

Almost 2 years ago now, I blogged about the most followed travel-related accounts on Twitter (here and here).   Since then, Twitter has seen enormous growth of course so I thought it was about time that I updated the list. Back then, not one of the accounts had even got close to 1 million followers.  Now almost half have surpassed that number. There’s also a greater dominance in the list by corporate accounts (in particular, from the airline industry). United Airlines (@UnitedAirlines) just missed the cut with 170,770 followers. This blog (@luxurytravel) isn’t quite up there any longer as one of the most followed travel-related accounts on Twitter (76,470 followers) but it has a respectable score of 63 when it comes to Klout.
