Pamper yourself in one of New York’s 3 most luxurious hotels

New York offers many five star luxury hotels but which one should you choose? My top 3 list will steer you in the right direction and help make your stay in the Big Apple one that you will never forget! New York is one of the worlds most famous cities, a vibrant “city that never sleeps”, and with so many things to do and places to see, the importance of hotel choice is critical and can literally make or break your well-earned trip away. The following hotels well and truly live up to their five star status and have been chosen for their overall quality and impeccable standards, allowing you to soak up every last drop of luxury that New York offers. The Pierre The Pierre is a highly rated five star luxury hotel located near to the iconic Central Park. There are a number of guest rooms available to choose from – Classic Room, City View Room, Park View Room, Executive Suite and the City View Suite. All of these rooms have been part of the recent (2009) $100 million revamp and the quality and attention to detail certainly shines through. When in the US  size matters and the size of the above guest rooms range from the 300-350 square foot for a Classic Room to the large 700 square foot City View Suite. Although the Park View Room is not the largest nor the most expensive, the memories of the view over Central Park will stay with you for a lifetime! The staff at The Pierre, a Taj Hotel, will cater for your every need from the white-gloved engaging lift attendants, to the enthusiastic front desk who effortlessly make you feel right at home. This iconic US flagship hotel exudes elegance and offers a true glimpse in to a bygone era whilst effortlessly catering for your 21st Century needs. Each room includes a 40 inch flat screen TVs equipped with DVD player and pay per view movies along with a state of the art Bose Wave stereo system which also includes an iPod dock. The ultra plush bed has been described by many returning visitors to be like “sleeping on a cloud” and the marble bathroom with soaking tub and separate shower will help relax you ahead of your fine dining experience at the hotel’s mouth-watering Italian restaurant, Sirio Ristorante. From check in to check out expect nothing less than five star treatment at New York’s The Pierre, A Taj and you wont be disappointed. The Lowell The Lowell is another five star boutique hotel with all the trimmings! Set in New York’s Upper East Side neighbourhood and within short walking distance of both the world-renowned luxury department store, Barney’s and the huge (843 acres) green oasis that is Central Park. The hustle and bustle of one of the US’s major cities is literally on the doorstep of this luxurious home from home boutique. However the friendly doorman will welcome you in to this upscale hotel where you will find a relaxing and somewhat chic shelter from the busy outside world. Scouring the net looking for welcoming luxury accommodation can often be a challenge! The one thing that can easily ruin a luxurious trip away is poor service, of any kind. The horror of all horrors though has to be checking in to the world’s most pretentious hotel, where the staff gladly go out of their way to offend!  My toes are currently curling as I relive my own personal encounters with those staff members I like to refer to as, snoots in suits!! Thankfully no such drama to be experienced at the impressive Lowell, where good service happens naturally. Throughout your stay all members of staff will make it their business to get to know you, in an ‘old friend’ sort of manner and in no way intrusive, thus leaving you very relaxed and at total ease within your surroundings,  which will allow you to enjoy all that The Lowell has to offer. There are a huge variety of room types to choose from – the Deluxe or Twin room (400 sq foot) starts the ball rolling and you can move up the size scale (between 600 -1000 sq foot rooms) with a further ten room types available. The Penthouse tops the charts with this 17th floor 2,000 square foot suite offering you the royal treatment, but in truth any suite at The Lowell will offer a majestic experience. The Chatwal The Chatwal is a five star ‘luxe’ hotel situated in a quiet mid-town Manhattan street yet only a very short walking distance (200 feet) away from the lively Times Square. On entering the Chatwal you will be taken aback by the sheer beauty and elegance of this hotels 1930 Art Deco design – the glamour of the 30s has been perfectly recaptured by designer Thierry Despont. To make the most of your Chatwal experience consider booking either the Junior Suite (520 sq foot) or Deluxe King Suite (750 sq foot); both offer a stunning view over one of the world’s most talked about cities. Inside your suite you will find all of those finer touches that one expects in a luxury hotel, from an $18,000 king sized bed dressed in 400-thread count Italian linens, to a sound-proofed room with suede-covered walls ensuring the end of your day is a peaceful one. However before you retire to your luxurious bed, step in to the bathroom and be prepared to be amazed; take a relaxing shower equipped with rainfall showerhead, while watching your very own bathroom TV. From your first steps past the smartly dressed bell boy and through the doors of this landmark building to your sad departure, you will receive an intimate service that only enhances your luxury experience. The Chatwal certainly has achieved its objective in bringing back glamour to this part of town, hence why it has easily found its way on to my top 3 list of luxurious New York hotels.
