5 of the best luxury vacation destinations in Asia

Travelling to Asia is a big commitment, especially when you want to do it in style. Inter-railing and gap year travel aside, enjoying the finer side of the East means looking for only the best, luxurious destinations and below we’ve got five top picks you must consider when planning that trip of a lifetime. Maldives The classic honeymoon destination. The Maldives is a collection of over 1000 islands and provides the intimate seclusion you’re looking for as a new couple. It’s a heavenly paradise packed out with sunny beaches and the resorts available offer the height of luxury. From luxury villas to over-the-water bungalows the Maldives is a little hard to get to but this is part of why the break will be so memorable and unique. Maldives Beijing China may not be known for its luxury but the capital city is jam-packed with points of cultural interest and is home to some of the best quality hotels the country has to offer. Have your every need catered for as you enjoy excursions to the Forbidden City and the Great Wall. Luxury tour operators can arrange every inch of your vacation or you could choose to go it alone. Great Wall of China Kyoto Much like Beijing, Kyoto isn’t known for its luxury but instead for its culture. It is home to 17 UNSECO World Heritage sites and ancient Japan is otherworldly and fascinating. You can hole up in hotels and accommodation options which cannot be beaten from penthouse suites to fully serviced apart-hotels, all with that unique Japanese feel which can’t be beaten. Japanese red maple in Kyoto Bali Another of those that tops the honeymooners lists. This Indonesian isle incorporates everything you’d expect from warm waters to white sands and a wide array of luxury hotels. It stands out from the crowd due to its other side however, where you can adventure and dip your toe into more extreme sports and excursions. Bali Koh Samui Thailand’s hidden gem and one which all travellers should keep in mind if they’re considering a luxury break. Koh Samui is renowned for its luxurious villa range and unlike other areas also combines this luxury with a friendly atmosphere. The islanders are welcoming and visitors feel right at home despite being thousands of miles from it. Natural landmarks and spiritual shrines make up some of Koh Samui’s attractions. Koh Samui sunset Visiting Asia may not be something you get to do more than once so it makes sense to make it count. Take advantage of the highest quality facilities and services whilst you can and you’ll guarantee a vacation which exceeds expectations. Mark Cox is Director at Samui Island Villas. 1. Samui and Bali are always top of my holiday list, we will be heading to Koh Lipe in Dec this year. Hope to enjoy the same as what we experienced in Samui last year!

  2. I totally agree on Koh Samui and Kyoto. Pretty much all the islands in the Koh Samui chain, like Koh Tao, are worth visiting. And Kyoto is just a pleasure to wander around because the area is so well landscaped and the people are so nice, with no scammers lingering around.

  3. We’re surprised India didn’t make the cut. It’s got a lot to offer in terms of culture and enough of Luxury to leave you pampered. Very surprisingly except for Beijing all the destinations are island countries.

  4. I totally agree Koh Samui is one of the nicest place to visit. I’ve been thinking on travelling to Maldives been reading a lot of blogs about that place some says it is a perfect definition of paradise. =D
