Greek mythology has it that the demi-god Hercules on one of his adventures defeated and buried several giants, which turned into what is today the island of Mykonos. And that, ladies and gents, is how the island of Mykonos was formed!! Mythological stories aside, this small island off the coast of Greece is worth a long stay in itself with its picturesque white washed houses decked with flowers, to its small museums and lovely beaches. Here are 7 of the best things to do to make your stay in Mykonos a memorable one. 1. Visit the beaches If beaching it is on your agenda, then Mykonos has on offer some of the best beaches in this part of the world. Panormos beach with its white sand and calm waters is a paradise, although it does get crowded in the busiest days of summer so getting a drink at one of the two bars might take a bit longer than expected.
