One of the world’s most difficult dog sledding races

Since the first event in 2005, the Grande Odyssée has been one of the world’s most difficult dog sledding races. The Grande Odyssée 2014 will take place over 11 days, including nine stages and covering a total distance of 750 kilometres, with 30,000 metres of vertical climb. The time trial will take place in Samoëns on Saturday 11th January 2014, and on Sunday 12th, 30 of the world’s best mushers will start the race in Les Carroz. Dog sledding On Wednesday 22nd January, they will cross the finishing line in Val Cenis, in Haute Maurienne Vanoise, after going through the Giffre Valley, Les Gets, Savoie Grand Revard, Megève and Aussois. Entertainments and parties will take place at the different stages during the 11 days of the race. To get more of an insight into the event, watch the following videos:
