4 of the best luxury restaurants in Montreal

Montreal is a top destination for Canadians and international visitors alike. The city exudes a vibrant sense of urban flair and is known as a foodie’s paradise. These top restaurant picks excel in food, service and presentation. They are perfect for special nights out and romantic dining, providing the ultimate in luxury cuisine. One thing to keep in mind is that many of these restaurants also offer discounted fare after a certain hour. Instead of the early bird diner, the night owl is rewarded with culinary delight. Milos For Greek food that knows no limits of deliciousness, head to this Mile End estiatorio, with sister locations in New York, Miami, Las Vegas and Athens. Milos’ fresh fish rivals all other Montreal restaurants’. The spacious eatery is elegant and fun. Fresh seafood is laid out as if in a first-class market from which guests can choose their very own catch of the day. Restaurant Leméac For French food done right, head to Leméac, a charming bistro-styled eatery on quaint Laurier Avenue. Entering, you’ll feel sure you’ve travelled through a portal to Paris. The atmosphere is bustling and you can opt to sit on the covered terrace replete with romantic twinkle lights or inside, at wood tables with crisp linens. Typical French fare is on offer; I like to start with the Mediterranean fish soup followed up by one of the duck dishes. Restaurant Leméac Ferreira Café This top-quality Portuguese restaurant is both ambient and exquisite. The service is impeccable, the food fresh and delicious and the soft lighting and bustling atmosphere at once fun and intimate. My favourite thing to order is the bouillabaisse chock full of calamari, clams, shrimp, salmon and other sea fare, but their grilled fish dishes are also excellent. The grilled octopus appetizer is also a highlight. Ferreira Café Chez Chose Tucked away on Saint Denis Street, Chez Chose is the perfect setting for a great, unpretentious meal. Though its ambience is less formal than the other restaurants listed here, the service is warm and wholesome and the food exquisite.

  1. As a born-and-raised Montrealer, now living in Quebec City, I have to agree with Ferreira on this list. Certainly one of my favorites restaurants! Milos is also a good pick, but I was surprised by Lemeac. Luxury restaurant, really? Hmmm, okay.

I have heard many great things about Chez Chose, so I will need to try it out. By the way, I am surprised you did not have Toqué on your list. Its acclaimed chef, Normand Laprise, has won praise and international awards continuously over the years, and is certainly #1 on my list in Montreal.

    Cheers,
    Frederic

  2. Hi! I’m Jennifer, Chez Chose’s community manager. Thanks so much for these kind works. We hope to have you back some day and you are more than welcome Frederic to come try us out!

Just wanted to let you know as well that we’ve moved on Bélanger street, but are only one street away from a metro station, so still very accessible!

    Thanks again!
