Enjoy all the festivities during Park City, Utah’s 4th of July celebration

The 4th of July in Park City is full of activities for everyone. The day starts off early with the annual 5K and pancake breakfast in the morning and ends late into the evening after the breathtaking firework display over the town provided by Park City Mountain Resort. Each year more and more people travel to this little mountain town just to take part in what might be one of the best 4th of July celebrations in the country. It is a great opportunity to see what this mountain town can do in the summer months when the world famous ski slopes are closed. 4th July fireworks Take a look at some of the great things you can enjoy on this most patriotic day. Annual pancake breakfast in City Park Start your day off right with the annual pancake Breakfast in City Park. For just $7, $5 for kids 12 and younger, you can indulge in your breakfast favorites, all cooked and served by local Boy Scout troops. Cole Sport 5k mountain fun run Kick of the day by participating in the 5k Fun Run sponsored by Cole Sport. All procedures for this run will benefit the Park City Ski Team. Pre-registration is $30 for adults and $20 for children, and closes at 5 p.m. on July 3. Race day registration fees will be $35 and $25 and runs between 6:30 a.m. and 8:30 a.m. Race fees include a race T-shirt. Traditional 4th of July parade Don’t miss the floats and entries of this annual favorite. The parade starts at 11 a.m. and will run down Main Street, Park Avenue and finishing in City Park. Feel your heart quicken as you watch the fly-over by jets from Hill Air Force Base — a local favorite. You’ll see colorful floats, marching bands, horses and so much more! Celebrate the 4th in City Park City Park will be alive with a variety of activities all day long. Beginning at 10 a.m. you can enjoy rugby games, live music, and a Rotary-sponsored barbeque. You’ll also enjoy delicious food offerings, games and activities for the kids. Quench your thirst at the beer garden. What’s the 4th without a rodeo? Visit the 80th Annual Oakley Rodeo and 4th of July Celebration. Running every evening between July 2-5, you can get your cowboy on at the PRCA-sectioned rodeo featuring clowns, bucking broncos, and bull riding. You can also enjoy spectacular fireworks displays each night. Fireworks galore Of course, every 4th of July brings spectacular fireworks. Both Park City Mountain Resort and the Canyons Resort will be feature live music, food and firework displays. Whether you go to the resorts, or choose another location, these fireworks are sure to be memorable and awesome.   1. There will not be a flyover from Hill Air Force Base for the 2014 4th of July Parade in Park City, Utah this year (like last year) due to budgetary cuts. There will be a flyover by private pilots in vintage bi-planes. Joel Fine, Chair of the 2014 4th of July Parade in Park City, Utah
