Top 3 luxury hotels in Hong Kong

Hong Kong is the worldÂ’s most vertical city, resulting in an iconic skyline that forms the backdrop for a nightly laser show showcasing some of its most dramatic skyscrapers. But itÂ’s more than a top financial center and trade hub; itÂ’s practically a must on any trip to Asia, especially for foodies and nightlife aficionados. It’s also the perfect introduction to China for visitors with its cosmopolitan vibe, efficient transportation, and ease of communication, since most residents speak both English and Chinese. As you’d expect for a world financial center, Hong Kong offers some of the best luxury hotels in the world. There are a number of options, but these are my top three luxury hotel picks, encompassing not only wonderful rooms, suites, views and amenities, but also consistently excellent service. 1. The Four Seasons Hong Kong The Four Seasons Hong Kong has it all: a convenient location in central Hong Kong, connected to the IFC Mall and Hong Kong Airport Express; beautiful views of Victoria Harbour, including from the lovely outdoor pool; superb Four Seasons service; and 3 Michelin star Lung King Heen, with incredible dim sum and Cantonese cuisine. Four Seasons Hong Kong For extra pampering, book one of the luxurious suites, all of which include access to the Executive Club Lounge on the 45th floor. Open around the clock, the lounge offers an extensive breakfast buffet, afternoon tea, and a light supper spread with hot noodle bar, cocktails and desserts. A dedicated concierge team is also on hand to help you plan your Hong Kong stay. The Four Seasons Hong Kong is as great for families as it is for business travelers and couples, and kids will be excited to receive a special welcome amenity (in my sonÂ’s case it was a cute panda bear stuffed animal), wrap up in child-size bathrobes, and savor kid-friendly treats from the childrenÂ’s menu. Plus, donÂ’t underestimate how often youÂ’ll want to all cool off and relax in the infinity pool, after a busy day sightseeing in Hong Kong. 2. The Upper House Hong Kong If your penchant is for sleek luxury design hotels, The Upper House should be your top choice in Hong Kong. Just a few minutesÂ’ walk from the Admiralty MTR Station, this boutique hotel starts on Floor 38, so all studios and suites offer beautiful views of Victoria Harbour, the Hong Kong skyline, or the verdant mountain. YouÂ’ll feel like a well-heeled local in the residential style of the spacious Studios. Even the smallest is twice the size of most other Hong Kong hotel rooms, at 730 square feet, with handsome bathrooms that include free-standing bathtubs with incredible views. Just remember that the view can be two ways, so either dim the lights when enjoying the view from the bath at night, or touch a button to lower the privacy shades. The Upper House Hong Kong Traveling with another couple or as a family? Splash out on a Penthouse, with 1960 square feet of space and two bedrooms, each with its own spa-like bath with walk-in shower and soaking tub with dramatic views. In the morning, donÂ’t miss a great start to your day with breakfast at Café Gray Deluxe on the 49th floor, or via in-room dining. A traditional Chinese dim sum breakfast gets rave reviews, but pancake fans should definitely order the scrumptious Blueberry Dutch Pancake with maple syrup and Devonshire cream. Other sweet breakfast treats include Belgian Waffles with Macadamia Nuts, Bananas and Butterscotch Sauce, and Nutella Filled Brioche French Toast with Sour Cherry Compote. 3. The Peninsula Hong Kong If you prefer to be on the Kowloon side, which offers great night views of the Hong Kong city lights and laser show at night, itÂ’s hard to do better than The Peninsula Hong Kong. The hotel, originally opened in 1928 and the flagship property of The Peninsula hotels, has been called the “Grande Dame of the Far East.” But donÂ’t worry that youÂ’ll be staying in dated furnishings; The Peninsula Hong Kong underwent a $58 million renovation in 2013, which resulted in a complete makeover of both the original building and a modern tower. The Peninsula Hong Kong Enjoy ultra comfortable beds with Quagliotti linen and Muhldorfer down duvets and pillows, intuitive digital bedside tablets that control lights, temperature, entertainment, and privacy, and free international calls on the wireless phones with VoIP. For the best views, stay in a Grand Deluxe Harbour View Room or Grand Deluxe Harbour View Suite. And for the full Peninsula experience, book one of the 14 bespoke Rolls-Royce Phantoms for your arrival from Hong Kong Airport, or for a swanky ride to dinner. 1. A nice selection, I have to say that my favourite Hong Kong hotel is The Intercontinental, I love it’s infinity pool!

  2. But of course the Peninsula in Hong Kong is hard to beat. My utter favorite, hands down. This is the quintessential ” hotel with character “. I hate the feeling that you get in other cookie-cutter hotels, that it’s the same atmosphere in any place , country you go to. The Peninsula hk transports you to an era of grace, upon entry.
